WLCB is a Low Power FM (LPFM) radio station. LPFM is a non-commercial educational broadcast service. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) created the LPFM service in January 2000 as a new class of radio station to offset the growing consolidation of station ownership. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 removed caps on radio ownership and accelerated the decline of locally produced radio programming.

Lakes Community Broadcasting, Inc. (LCB) is a community-oriented, volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) Wisconsin not-for-profit corporation that operates WLCB 101.5FM. LCB is dedicated to providing community related announcements and regularly scheduled programming that appeals to a diversity of community interests.
